Description
Description
Large pedal area, good power transfer and low weight.
The pedal surface of Favero Assioma pedals is large and the surface is placed close to the pedal axle. As a result, power transmission is almost as good as with 'normal' pedals. The weight is also relatively low. In fact, these Favero Assioma Duo Power Meter Pedals are only about 55 grams heavier than Shimano Ultegra pedals!
Favero IAV
Favero Assioma DUO Power Meter Pedals measure the rotational speed while pedalling with a built-in gyroscope. The technique they use to measure this is called Favero IAV, or Instantaneous Angular Velocity. Thanks to this technology, the pedals can accurately determine total power output, left-right ratio, effective pedal stroke and more.
Compatible with all types of chainrings
The Favero Assioma DUO Power Meter Pedals measure exactly how fast you spin during the entire pedal stroke. Many power meters assume a constant speed, however this is not the case with, for example, oval chainrings. The Favero Assioma DUO can therefore be used with oval chainrings, unlike many other power meters.
Internal battery
The pedals use an internal rechargeable battery that lasts up to 50 hours on a single charge. While charging, the pedals can easily stay on the bike. Not only is the included charging cable two metres long, the magnetic attachment means you don't have to keep looking for a charging port.
Waterproof, reliable and replaceable
These power meter pedals can withstand extreme weather conditions. The pedals are built to last, but if a part breaks, you can easily replace it. All pedal parts are available separately.

If you want to improve your performance, you can train more specifically with a powermeter. A power meter is much more accurate than for example a heart rate meter, this is because your heart rate is influenced by outside factors such as temperature or fatigue.Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between pedal power meters such as this Assioma DUO and crank arm power meters, for example? The main advantage of a pedal power meter is that it is relatively easy to change from bike to bike. Handy if you have multiple bikes! It is also not inferior to other types of powermeters in terms of accuracy of measurement. In addition, the availability of spare parts means these pedals will last you a very long time.
How do I calibrate the Assioma DUO pedals?
You don't need to calibrate the pedals, they do it automatically. However, it is advisable to keep the bike upright to ensure correct calibration. If you still want to calibrate the pedals, that is no problem. This can be done via the app. The old data will simply be overwritten by the new calibration.
I am currently using Shimano racing pedals, can I keep using them?
Unfortunately this is not possible. The pedal is designed to work with the Look Keo system and cannot be converted to work with Shimano SPD-SL. You will need to mount different cleats on your cycling shoes. The red plates (9° float) are supplied as standard and fit the same shoes as the Shimano SPD-SL pedals.
There are Assioma DUO axles available on which you can mount your own Shimano pedal body. These are suitable for use with the Shimano SPD-SL system. The axles can be found here.
